The Best Age for Newborn Photos - Under 3 Weeks Old

Babies rarely come right on their due dates. Your photographer will be flexible with booking your shoot to accommodate early or late arrivals.

1-3 weeks old is the best age for newborn photography. This is the true newborn phase. Taking photos during this stage ensures that you will capture those sleepy, curled up images that are so iconic in newborn photography. 

If you wait until baby is 4-8 weeks old, they will be more alert, wiggly, and less likely to sleep for their session. Some parents prefer taking photos when baby is more awake, so just make sure that your newborn photographer offers shoots for older babies as well.
