Newborn Studio Setup

Photography Studio in Old Town Fort Collins

All of my newborn sessions take place in a natural light photography studio in Old Town Fort Collins. It is a beautiful, historic space that I share with other local photographers - but for your session we’ll have the studio all to ourselves! For many families, the studio is one of the first places you’ll bring your baby after they’re home from the hospital. It can be difficult leaving the house with a newborn, so I want the studio feel like a home away from home! You will have everything you need to relax and enjoy the session.

Newborn Posing Bag

My posing bag from Newborn Studio Props is essentially a large bean bag with a flat top. It’s specially designed to be a comfortable, stable surface for photographing all of those tiny newborn features! I am a natural newborn photographer - so all of my poses are relaxed and and perfectly safe for every baby. I pose them on their back, their tummy, and in your hands to get lots of variety for your newborn gallery.

The Best Newborn Baby Blankets

I am always on the lookout for beautiful, neutral baby blankets. My favorite blankets for wrapping are from Elegant Baby. The key is finding high-quality fabrics with delicate texture. Babies feel safe and secure when they are swaddled, so I often start out the session this way.

rolling cart essentials

My rolling cart is never out of reach during a newborn session. I keep a soft-bristled hairbrush, Baby Shusher, extra blankets & wraps, baby’s pacifier, and small felt squares to serve as posing aides under the blanket backdrop. The rolling cart works wonders to keep me organized during baby’s photoshoot.
